How to Get Perfect Red Lips Everytime!

Every woman wants to have luscious, red lips especially with an equally sexy pout. The secret is choosing the right shade of red that works with your skin tone. Women with warm complexions and hair color such as golden or red, should choose red color that belongs to the wine or red coral family. There are few cases in which a red lipstick might not suit you. Try reddish- brown shade with a tinge of red lip gloss over it. Here are some tips on how to get perfect lips everytime.

Red lipstick can be intimidating, though, what with the prep time and maintenance required, so it is important to learn how to do red lips the right way, whether you want to rock the look every day or save it just for parties. While this article isn’t about brands, we do recommend a high quality product such as those offered by MAC Cosmetics that will look great on anyone.

Use an exfoliant especially designed for lips to remove dead skin cells. You can even use a toothbrush and gently rub it on your lips. This technique will not only increase blood circulation in your lips but will also help in giving them a reddish appearance.

Next, apply a skin- complementing concealer to your lips and around the edges of your mouth. Concealer fills in lip creases and spots/ blemishes around the mouth and makes your lips look fuller. Apply a loose powder to the lips. This should be the same shade as the powder you apply to your face.

Take a red lip pencil and line your lips throughout. Use a soft lip brush to apply red lipstick. You can apply red lip gloss as well over the lipstick. Just lip gloss may make your lips look less full. But with lipstick they tend to reflect light, thus making your lips look larger and redder. To make your lips look extra red, mix a pinch of your favorite essential oil like almond oil or cinnamon into your lip gloss tube. Another mixture you can add to your lip gloss is a mixture of a vitamin E gel capsule, up to six drops of essential oil, and six tsps of olive oil. The Vitamin E tends to nourish the lips and draw and attract moisture which can make them appear a bit redder and fill in tiny lip lines. Essential oil and olive oil moisturize and soften the lips. Some people advocate applying cinnamon oil, peppermint oil, or a cayenne pepper mixture to their lips to increase blood flow to the lips. These treatments result in reddening of lips (because of the increase in blood circulation). You can even use Niacin but in the liquid form. Niacin is a B3 vitamin, which works as a superb plumping agent for the lips. It acts upon the capillaries located within your lips, improves blood circulation and which causes them to swell and look redder and fuller. It is a bit expensive in liquid form. Another thing to take care of is that since liquid form is concentrated, liquid niacin should not be directly applied to your lips, as it causes excessive irritation. Mix it with lip balm and then apply on lips.
